Mount Sinai Health System Radiology Scheduling Coordinator-MSH/MSW-FT Days in New York, New York

Qualifications

  • 2 years? experience in Health Care, preferably understanding the authorization process for procedures, insurance experience.

  • Experience with EPIC; technically savvy ie PAX and films

  • Strong understanding of Insurance, healthcare claims; comfortable talking with patients

Responsibilities

  • Get authorizations/referrals for Radiology Procedure

  • Work necessary workques

  • Speak to patients about insurance issues.

  • Access to the EPIC clinical information to submit to insurance companies to avoid denials and delays – routing request for peer to peer to the appropriate APP

  • Scheduling for Radiology Procedures - based on urgency, provider/practice appointment and clinical protocols – ie 2 week post op imaging; having imaging completed before meeting to discuss surgery planning

  • Ability to schedule Stat imaging and add on coordination.

  • Obtaining outside Radiology Records

  • Obtain HIPPA release form to request external Radiology reports.

  • Load outside films - uploaded into PACS

  • Confirming Patients, appointments are completed and if not (if a no show) let provider team know and re-coordinate according to scheduling needs; No Shows are important for the practice to know.

  • Understanding Neurology/Neurosurgery clinical protocol - for example - implanted devices –coordinating pre and post scan device checks with the clinical team.

  • Troubleshoot patient issues relative to Radiology needs – answering patient calls regarding their authorizations and confirmation of appointment.

  • Attending departmental conferences where we discuss patient management (multi-disciplinary conference)

  • Working for multiple providers relative to their Radiology Scheduling Needs.

  • Answer heavy volume of phone calls, submit outside imaging for review.

Compensation Statement

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $20.46 - $30.68 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
