Mount Sinai Health System Clinical Coordinator for Radiation Therapy Education and Research - Radiation Therapy School - Mount Sinai Hospital - Full Time Days in New York, New York

Job Description

The Clinical Coordinator for Radiation Therapy Education and Research is responsible for correlating clinical and didactic education for radiation therapy students, evaluating student clinical performance, participating in didactic and/or clinical instruction and supporting the program director to help assure effective program operation and curriculum set forth by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). This individual participates in radiation therapy research and assist radiation therapists with their research initiatives. The incumbent requires credentials as a Registered Radiation Therapist, as well as experience in teaching, clinical practice and research.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required

  • ARRT certification required

  • 5+ years clinical experience

  • Experience with student education

  • Experience with research

  • Leadership experience preferred

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $106,108.00 - $159,161.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Responsibilities

Facilitates student clinical education and ensure clinical compliance as defined by the JRCERT.

Educates students in clinical settings across the Mount Sinai Health System.

Organizes student site placements and clinical evaluation.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with radiation therapy staff within the radiation oncology departments across the Mount Sinai Health System.

Prepares course plans and materials; teach several mini-courses per semester, as assigned, some of which may be off-campus at area clinical sites.

6.Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development. Maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress.

7.Serves as an active member of the Mount Sinai Center for Radiation Therapy Education at Stony Brook University Admissions and Advisory Committee.

Assists with the development and assessment of the clinical education component of the curriculum with the program director.

Conducts scholarly and clinical research activities and dissemination of findings.

Assists radiation therapists with their research initiatives.

Coordinates annual continuing education programs for radiation therapists.

12.Other duties as assigned.
