The Mount Sinai Health System Payroll Representative in Elmhurst, New York
Processes payroll accurately and timely in accordance with established practices, tracks PTO, vacation and sick time. Maintains records and files. Responds to employee questions.
Prepares biweekly payroll for Elmhurst and Queens Hospitals. Checks time sheets for approvals and completeness, and compares to summary spreadsheets for accuracy.
Receives processed payroll from Mount Sinai data center and helps check for accuracy. Prepares corrections of errors and adjustments as necessary.
Maintains employee files on payroll system. Updates information in system as necessary.
Maintains and updates Excel worksheets to track employee PTO/Vacation/Sick, etc. reflecting time earned, used and balances available.
Answers routine telephone inquiries regarding vacation and sick balances, pay rates and addresses any other employee concerns.
Prepares bi-weekly payroll summary for proper posting to the general ledger. Supports all special pays and unusual items. Collaborates with general accounting staff on proper general ledger account coding for non-recurring transactions.
-High school diploma or equivalent required.
-1 to 3 years payroll processing experience preferably utilizing Oracle.
-Intermediate experience with payroll software programs and data input.
-Basic to Intermediate skill in Excel.
-Basic skill level in Outlook for sending and retrieving email.
-Advanced knowledge and experience in payroll calculation and processing.
-Familiarity with applicable local, state and federal tax rules and laws.
-Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
-Good time management skills to meet payroll deadlines.
